The
European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic
Sea
The "European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic
Sea" is an association of Cistercian places and people who are
interested in them. We deal with the heritage of the Cistercian
order, its branches near the North Sea and the Baltic Sea and
that what may be called "specific local Cistercian spirit".
We deal with the Cistercian's work, especially in history, architecture,
economy and spirituality. We ask ourselves what we can learn
from the Cistercians concerning European aspects, e.g. regarding
economic and ecological processes.
The participants develop, promote and support
all kinds of information concerning Cistercian spirituality
and values as well as research and teaching these matters
studying Cistercian history and its presentation on the
basis of the current results of research
The participants support each other by exchange of experience
and cooperation all over Europe at symposiums and seminars,
exhibitions and activities, projects and presentations.
By that the "European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and
the Baltic Sea" offers opportunities for information, interchange
and sharing experience of the Cistercian heritage and its local
characteristics.
It attracts the attention of many people in the different European
countries.
